Europe's leading centre for contemporary dance training is expanding its
current activities. As a result, a dynamic archivist is required to be part
of this exciting development in the Centre's current location before it
moves to purpose-built premises in Creekside, Deptford, supported by a
capital lottery grant of £12 million from the Arts Council of England and
designed by Herzog and de Meuron, whose previous projects have included Tate
Modern.
Archivist (Fixed term superannuable appointment for 12 months initially)
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic archivist to help choose and
implement appropriate cataloguing software and to sort, arrange, package and
catalogue our various collections in compliance with ISAD(G) and other
relevant standards. The collections include photographs of and documents
about Rudolf Laban, material from Dance and Dancers, and personal archives
of 20th C dance educationalists and choreographers. You should be able to
work using your own initiative, be a good communicator and work well in a
team.
