Research Associate Vacancy
A new vacancy has arisen within the Research Capacity Building
Network. We are seeking a suitably qualified person to provide
statistical expertise to the project. This will be based within the
Cardiff University School of Social Sciences.
Job Description:
· To provide statistical expertise to the project.
· To develop and deliver training courses, on topics identified in
the skills and needs audit but likely to focus on statistical
analysis (including advanced topics such as multilevel modelling and
analysis of data from complex trials) and research design..
· To mentor other researchers, advising on research design and
statistical analysis.
· To evaluate existing training resources.
· To publish reports and protocols.
· To manage an interactive web-site.
· To arrange conferences.
· To assist the skills and needs audit.
· To assist the effective operation of the project office.
· You may be asked to perform other duties occasionally which are
not included above, but which will be consistent with the role.
You will work with an interdisciplinary team comprising Prof Stephen
Gorard, Dr Laurence Moore and others on a ground breaking project
aimed at building research capacity relevant to learning in all ages
and sectors, and to education as a social science more widely. You
will assist a skills and needs audit of researchers, evaluate
existing research training, and broker and develop innovative
research protocols.
Duration: Fixed-term for 3 years due to limited external funding from
the Economic and Research Council (ESRC).
Salary Details: £16775- £25213 per annum, (RA1A). This post is
pensionable.
