I had to register our University with the U.S. department of Education last
year for all our undergraduate courses. It took me over six month's to
gather and collate all the required information together. the paperwork
involved is excessive and at times difficult to understand just what they
want, in my opinion. the trance Atlantic phone calls and faxes are excessive
for the number of students who apply. It is a dedicated and time consuming
job and needs to be monitored at all times for any new validated courses
brought on stream. the licence will have to applied for every tree years.

Subject: US LOANS: COMPLIANCE AUDIT
I would be most grateful if addressees could indicate what action they
have taken on the requirement from the US Department of Education.
Our Finance Director, realising potential costs, is keen to discover what
other institutions are doing - despite my assurance, based on mainly on
BUTEX advice, that there's no option other than to comply.
