The 256 MB was in the older kernels. If you're running OS4.2 with the
latest Patch (which I think is Patch4), you should be all-right up to
512 MB. I personally use 512MB in my home PC and it works great in
OPENSTEP. After that, I heard strange things might start happening.
Then again, I hear stranger things happen at sea...
