Here's three references, but they are more about other new media than
the net, and are from a while ago in net terms. Otherwise I'd try
Mute magazine (UK) <http://www.metamute.com/index.htm>. It's worth
looking up more recent Manovich writings, and Matthew (Matt) Fuller
too.
Neumark, Norie (1995) "Interactive journeys: Making room to move in
the cultural territories of interactivity (aesthetics and politics of
computer imagery in popular culture)." Leonardo Vol.28 No.4. 301-6.
Lunenfeld, Peter (1996) "Theorising in real time: Hyperaesthetics for
the technoculture." Afterimage, Jan./Feb. 16-17.
Manovich, Lev (1996) "The aesthetics of virtual worlds: Report from
Los Angeles." Ctheory, Global Algorithm 1.3. [Online]. Available from
URL: http://www.ctheory.com/e42.html.
Hope that's some help - hopefully the CRUMB links will also lead you
to some real live projects. Anyone else have suggestions?
