title: marketing for corporate information services
date: 8th October 2001
fee: £275.00 + VAT (£323.13)
speaker: Keith Hart
In the knowledge-conscious world of the new millennium, corporate library
and information services are expected to play a pivotal role in the parent
organisation. In particular, they are required to provide tailored services
closely focused on the needs of specific customer groups, whether they be
partners, directors, senior managers, policy makers, researchers or other
knowledge workers. This practical one day course will help delegates
identify these groups and their changing needs, and encourage them to use
the tools of market analysis and marketing plans to ensure they are
anticipating and meeting the needs of their customers.

title: interpreting company accounts
date: 12th October 2001
fee: £275.00 + VAT (£323.13)
speaker: Christopher Murphy
Contrary to what many people believe, understanding accounts does not
involve complicated mathematics and is actually based on a few, largely
common-sense ideas. After reviewing the contents of reports and accounts
and seeing what kinds of information can or cannot be found in them, the
course focuses on interpreting financial data, ending with a practical
exercise applying the knowledge and skills gained.
This course de-mystifies the basic features of company accounts in a simple
and interactive manner. Delegates will quickly get to grips with how market
analyst and research companies derive financial statistics from published
information. They will also learn how to calculate such information
themselves. This workshop will be invaluable to anyone using or working
with company financials.
