I have recently received some complaints about he number of out-of-office
replies being sent to the list. In my quest to improve the situation I have
come across the following advice, which may prove particularly useful as we
approach the Summer.
If you will be away it may be advisable to suspend your list mail during
your absence. You can do this by emailing
[log in to unmask] with the command set * nomail This will suspend the
mail from all your jiscmail lists
On your return to resume mail from all lists send the message set * mail If
you only want to suspend a particular list put the listname instead of *
If you want to set an automatic out-of-office response, please do this after
you have suspended your jiscmail.
I hope this is helpful. It would be a shame to lose subscribers through
frustration with 'junk' postings.
