8/12/00
Dear Colleagues,
A comment regarding the dates for the BSA conference, the BSA Sociology of
Religion Study Group Annual Conference, and the INFORM conference, in
addition to Prof. Beckford's note.
Indeed, there is a long story behind the clash of dates ...
Speaking from the point of view of the Study Group Committee, it turned out
to be very difficult to find a venue for the conference in 2001, which
could meet most of the required criteria. In the end, the question was
whether to have a conference for the 9-12th April at Plater College or no
conference at all.
The clash with the BSA is regrettable and would normally not happen, but
could not be avoided for the Study Group conference in 2001.
Paper proposals for and/or attendance at the Study Group conference at
Plater College, Oxford, would be very much welcome.
