Dear Scott,
Thankyou for your interest. What I am looking at is firstly whether or not
PT's think it is necessary to see ACL reconstructions pre-operatively.
As you obviously do, I am investigating what you aim to achieve by pre-op
rehab i.e. is it just general strengthening or do you use more objective
markers such as full range extension. Also, can you tell me why you see
patients pre-op. Is it because you see it has worked, because of a body of
research you have read, or is it because surgeons refer them to you because
they see it necessary.
An exercise programme would be great, and if you have any useful references
I would be very grateful.
Thakyou once again
Gareth

Shelbourne and Rask (1998) state that pre-op rehab reduces complications
after ACL reconstruction and leads to a more rapid return to full functional
recovery.
