We can argue about spam... but some of the people who reply to this
list need to have a little more thought about how many bytes they
burden on others.
that is...replies ad infinitum...
for example: I get this list in digest form.
A while ago I had a digest with 99 kBytes. If I reduced the replies
to replies to replies it came down to 26 kBytes.
The record is 6 levels....a reply to a reply to a ..etc... the
amazing thing was that the actual content of the (6th) reply was less
than 2 sentences.. the message took up 5 pages.
Yet no comment as to the legitimate statement of the contents...
I'd vote for Steve Redgrave.
The request was a legitimate statement - took up much less bandwidth
than some of the other replies...
My consideration is that original message was a little jingoistic
(unless xenophytes can vote? ) since this is an international list -
but I get use to that - I await for the Christmas best wishes and
comments about winter and snow...Happy summer holiday statements in
June... etc...
Obviously pressing the reply button is easier than pressing a Chad.
Cheers
Garry Allison.
