Colleagues,
You have now had lots of practical information and I thought it might be
useful just to remind everyone about some of the intellectual issues:
The main purpose of this meeting is to get to know each other better and to
work out schemes for ensuring that the collaboration proves successful. We
don't therefore anticipate highly formal presentations at any point over the
three days but want plenty of time for discussion.
The initial presentations, therefore, should be fairly straight-forward
introductions to your research and interests.
The presentation of documentary material will again focus on the
circulation either via xeroxes or overheads of the evidence that we are
each working on individually.
I am hoping that Professor Meuller and Mackenney will then be able to offer
both general advice on how to approach this material and how prices can be
established in the fifteenth-early seventeenth centuries and perhaps some
suggestions for how to manage our particular material.
We are all very much looking forward to seeing you in Brighton.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Evelyn
