Dear Historians of Disability:
At the NEH Summer Institute on Disability Studies, the historians present
decided to set up a disability history listserv. H-Net has approved
H-Disability as one of its listservs. Now all we need are editors. As
part of the proposal, I submitted Paul Longmore, Cathy Kudlick, Dan Wilson
and myself as editorial board members, Caren Appel as web page editor and
Halle as reviews editor.
If you are interested in applying to join the editorial board or to serve
as an additional web page editor or as a reviews or list editor, you are
welcome to do so. I just had to put down names in order to get the
original approval. I would love for any interested party to apply for
these positions. We need as many historians participating as possible.
To do so, please go to the H-net web page, to discussion lists, to
becoming an editor and then follow the directions for submitting your
letter. They supply a form letter which is what I used to apply. THEN,
please email me at [log in to unmask] and let me know what positions you
applied for, etc. This will give me a sense as to what is missing and
what to tell the H-net people about our progress in getting this started.
Please circulate this announcement to other scholars who are interested in
disability history.
THANKS!!! Happy Holidays to all.
Sandy Sufian
