Hi listmembers
I thought this article was extremely clumsy and dangerous as a result. Is it
not true that prisons have an over-representation of people with
disabilities compared to those without? Perhaps even more
over-representative than Australian Aboriginals? I am sorry I cannot recall
the source of this information.
Is this less to do with criminal activity but more to do with having access
to the resources that would navigate them through the justice system with
proper defense? Does 'educational disadvantage' give propensity toward
crime or does it just make you vulnerable to prosecution and defenseless
against the courts?
I would like to see the evidence proving a causal link between criminal
activity and Aspergers (not that I assume any exists). I guess it needs to
be acknowledged that an infringement of a social response may also
constitute the infringement of a law but how is culpability determined
particularly when social naivety may so easily be exploited by others for
their own gain?
Best regards
