SBC Symposium on Virtual Reality - October 16-19, 2001

**** PRELIMINARY CALL FOR PAPERS
The SVR (formerly WRV- Workshop on Virtual Reality) is a symposium
promoted by the SBC (The Brazilian
Computer Society). This symposium integrates researchers, developers,
students and other professionals
from academic, industrial and commercial communities, interested in the
virtual reality area.
After the previous successful Workshops in S=E3o Carlos (1997), =
Mar=EDlia
(1999), and Gramado (2000), the next
event will be held in Florian=F3polis - SC, Brazil.
The planned activities for the SVR 2001 include: short-courses, invited
talks, technical sessions for
presentation of selected papers, panels, and demonstrations of virtual
reality posters and applications.
*** SUBMISSIONS
Authors are invited to submit original papers, on concluded and on-going
work, related to the main aspects
of Virtual Reality. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Hardware and software for virtual reality;
- Human-machine 3D interaction;
- Distributed virtual reality systems;
- Virtual reality applications in the areas of education,
medicine, business, engineering and architecture,
entertainment, etc.
- Social, economical and technical impacts of virtual reality.
The papers will be reviewed by researchers and practitioners from the
virtual reality area. All accepted
papers will be presented at the technical sessions and published in the
Proceedings of the Symposium.
Papers should be submitted electronically, in English or in Portuguese,
in the following format: letter size,
single column, 3,5 cm for upper margin, 2 cm for bottom margin, 3 cm for
lateral margins, 12 Times New
Roman type or equivalent, simple space, and no page numbered.
The first page of the paper should contain the paper title, author(s)
name(s), complete address (phone, fax,
e-mail) of authors, and abstract. The text should start right after the
abstract. The manuscript should be
limited to 12 pages. The papers may be prepared in pdf, postscript, or
Word 97 or 2000 format.
