GENERAL INFORMATION
The aim of the Conference is to promote the meeting of researches
involved in development and application of methods and techniques from
the broad framework of information technology and especially those
involved in the field of computer science, information systems,
operations research and statistics.
ITI seeks papers that will advance the state of the art in the filed,
and help foster increased interaction between academic and application
communities.
ITI will entertain papers, posters, panel proposals, tutorials and
workshops in the areas of basic research, experiences of technology
transfers and analysis of empirical research. Contributions describing
results of investigations, and not simply proposed ones, are solicited
in any of the topics suggested below.

PAPERS SUBMISSION
Authors who wish to present an original paper at the Conference should,
within Deadlines, submit to Conference secretariat three (3) copies in
English of a full paper related to any topic of the Conference. The
maximum number of pages, including illustrations, tables and references,
is six. The contributions should be typed on one side of A4 (210x297)
paper, using MS Word for Windows, Times New Roman font, size 12. LaTex,
Tex, Rtf or Postscript format would be also accepted.
Leave a 2.5 cm margin around the text Every sheet should be numbered on
the back. The paper should be printed on a laser printer and arranged in
the following order:
1. Title (centered)
2. Author(s), affiliation(s), complete mailing and e-mail address(es),
(centered, single-spaced)
3. Abstract (up to 100 words, single-spaced)
4. Key words (one line only)
5. The text, suitably divided under headings
6. Acknowledgements (if any, single-spaced)
7. References (single-spaced)
8. Footnotes (if any, single-spaced)

Invited papers, and original contributed papers after being reviewed and
accepted by two independent referees, and for which the registration fee
is paid will be published in the Conference Proceedings. The proceedings
will be distributed at the Conference.
A selection of papers presented at the Conference will be considered for
publishing in the following international journals:
* IMACS journal Mathematics and Computers in Simulation,
* CIT Journal of Computing and Information Technology.
POSTERS SESSION
Authors who wish to be considered for the poster/demo session at the
Conference should, within deadlines, submit to Conference secretariat
three (3) copies in English of an abstract not exceeding two printed
pages, and related to any topic of the Conference. Leave a 2.5 cm margin
around the text.
Abstract should be printed on a laser printer, using formats allowed for
contributed papers and arranged in the following order:
1. Title (centered)
2. Author(s), affiliation(s), complete mailing and e-mail address(es),
(centered, single-spaced)

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Proceedings editors alone. Upon
acceptance and the registration fee paid, abstracts will be printed in a
book called Conference Abstracts, separately from the full papers, and
distributed at the Conference.
TUTORIALS AND WORKSHOPS
Tutorial and Workshop Session Proposals are solicited for 2-hours,
4-hours or longer presentations in advanced state-of-the-art topics.
For the ITI participants, there is no additional fee for tutorials nor
workshops.

CALL FOR SPECIAL SESSION PROPOSALS
Prospective organizers of special sessions are encouraged to submit
proposals for special sessions. Special session organizers are
responsible for attracting authors for the session.
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS
Final (camera-ready) papers should not exceed 6 A4 pages, 12 pt letter
size (see web site for detailed instructions). Detailed instructions for
electronic submission are available on ISPA web site
(http://ispa.zesoi.fer.hr). All papers will be peer-reviewed.
At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register.
Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings, which will be
distributed at the meeting.

Registration: May 31, 2001
VENUE
The symposium will be held in a 3000-years-old town of Pula which is
located on the penisula of Istria in the northwest part of Adriatic
coast. Istria is a popular Mediterranean resort with many attractive
tourist destinations.
