geoof are you a member of the ECO list ( www.999.org.uk)?, that's probably a
better list of this question, but I know there's a fair amount of cross over
people wise between the two lists.
the green book ( IHCD tech manual) doesn't say a great deal on the subject,
that's the only book i've got to hand at the moment
but if AcBCD type assessment is being taught then c spine collars might be a
tool, but don't forget the collar itself doesn't provide full
immobilisiation so uinti lthey are KEDed or on a longboard they still need
manual satbilisation as well
