Yes, mid/senior A&E docs now have much more experience of Bier's blocks than
anaesthetists. It infuriates me that anaesthetists have the gall to lecture
us on how to do Bier's blocks, when I have rarely met an anaesthetist who
actually has experience of Bier's, while many A&E folk have personal
experience of many hundreds. It's yet another example of where our specialty
shouldn't have to seek permission from another specialty to do something
that we have more expertise in!!
Also, they only take 15 to 20 minutes to do...
