The Department of Philosophy at the University of Nottingham offers a
three year postgraduate studentship (PhD), starting October 2001.
The
studentship covers fees at the current Home/EU rate (£2740) plus a
stipend; the 2000/01 rate is £6800.
The studentship is in connection with a project on language,
modularity and innateness. It is expected that the successful
applicant will be supervised by Professor Greg Currie and Dr Jeff
Ketland.
The successful applicant will be part of a research team that includes
other members of the Department and is intended as a further step in
developing the Department's strength in mind and cognition. The
Department will shortly be making an appointment to work on a
project
on cognition partly funded by the Leverhulme Foundation, thus adding
further strength in this area.
The studentship is not yet formally advertised, but the Department is
keen to establish contact with excellently qualified candidates at
this stage, who may like to email to either
