The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of San Francisco
invites applications for a tenure-track position in (a) Communication
Studies, (b) Environmental Science (with expertise in Urban Ecology,
Land Use, and Resource Management), (c) Media Studies, (d)
Philosophy,
or (e) Sociology. Candidate should be able to teach in an
interdisciplinary Environmental Studies program. This position will be
at the Assistant Professor level and will begin in the Fall 2001,
pending approval and funding.
Teaching responsibilities may include lower and upper division courses
in the Environmental Studies program and in the candidate's area of
specialization.
Qualifications: University teaching experience, evidence of a strong
commitment to teaching, evidence of scholarship, an earned doctorate
by Fall 2001, experience and willingness to work in a culturally
diverse environment, and an understanding of and commitment to
support
the mission of the University are required. The candidate will be
expected to develop an independent and ongoing research program.
