Dear Colleagues
Just a "simple" question, from a physio from Down Under.
I am seeing a lady who is diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have done some
research in this diagnosis, and come to the conclusion, that the treatment
variable, depending who and what you read.
Some say that you give the patient exercises, that increase the heart rate
(85 percent from the max. heart rate). Others say it doesn't make any
difference in recovery if given aerobic exercises.
The patient is a 65 y.o. lady, diagnosed approx seven years ago, she has all
the "classical symptoms" eg: depressed, painful triggerpoints, and painful
muscles after gentle exercising.
She is currently seen as a "day program" patient. So far I have given her
aerobic exercises (walking, exercise bike and swimming) based on a increase
of 85 percent of her HR.
Any suggestions?
