I haven't seen anything on UK lists about the US commercial electronic
library services like Ebrary (http://www.ebrary.com) and Questia
(http://www.questia.com) that are due to start soon. They will offer the
text of thousands of books, periodicals and other material, at a price,
direct to users - though I guess libraries might be intermediaries. (See Do
You Still Need a Library Card?
http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,38671,00.html)
Might these services remove/reduce the need for something like HERON?
Are they being being looked at from the UK perspective, say by the DNER?
