BRITISH EDUCATION INDEX DATABASE SUPPORT OFFICER
(80% full-time equivalent minimum)
Available for a fixed-term of one year in the first instance. You will
work in a small team and be responsible for online indexing of
education and training literature and resources, for the processing
and management of bibliographic records and texts, and for
contributing to the management and development of internet
information services operated by the British Education Index office.
These include the British Education Index, Education-line and a
new internet facility which the office is developing within the national
Resource Discovery Network (the Education Portal). You should be
educated to degree standard with knowledge of the fields of education and
training. Computer literacy and excellent information management
and communication skills are essential. You should express
confidence and flexibility in approaching new applications and
problems.
Salary: Senior Library 1/2 (£16,775 - £25,213) according to
qualifications and relevant experience.
