JIBS User Group AGM and Current Awareness meeting
The JIBS User Group will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 21st
November at 1300 in Room 1.71 Franklin Wilkins Building, Waterloo Campus,
Kings College London. Following this short business meeting there will be
a repeat of the popular Current Awareness afternoon which was staged in
Oxford earlier this year.
The cessation of the BIDS ISI service at the end of July 2000 initiated a
debate on the provision of current awareness services in the academic
sector, at a time when the desktop delivery of timely and relevant
information is increasingly important. The meeting is designed to alert
librarians and information
professionals to the latest current awareness services on offer and to
discuss informally any local initiatives and practice. A number of major
service providers will be attending the meeting and giving short
presentations.
*Attendance is free* but you will need to register beforehand. (Details and
