submissions for an upcoming special issue on:
<color><param>0100,0100,0100</param>Film Adaptation
John Glavin and Steve Wurtzler, Guest Editors
</color>We seek essays that address film adaptations of literary works from
a number of perspectives including theory, economics, history, and
ideology. Case studies of individual works of adaptation are
welcomed so long as they directly engage larger contextual
concerns. For the purpose of this issue, the editors are broadly
defining film to include a variety of audio-visual media including
theatrical motion pictures, films distributed on cable channels,
television programs and series, CD-Rom and other emergent media.
While the editors are not seeking evaluative essays that judge film
adaptations in light of their original sources, they are seeking
theoretically engaged essays that explore the circulation of texts
across two or more media forms.

<color><param>0000,0000,0000</param>Lit: Literature Interpretation Theory publishes critical essays which
interpret texts from an engaging, coherent theoretical perspective.
Because Lit addresses a general literate audience, we encourage
essays unburdened by excessive theoretical jargon. We do not
restrict ourselves to specific periods, genres, or critical paradigms.
Submissions range from 5000 to 10,000 words and must use MLA
citation style. Please send essays in triplicate (if outside the U.S
or Canada, one copy will do), along with a 100 word abstract, to
