The Library of Congress assigns codes to classification schemes for use in
MARC records. It is by no means a complete list of all classifications.
The list is at: http://lcweb.loc.gov/marc/relators/re0005cl.html It will at
least give an idea of some of the more common schemes being used in various
subjects.
