Gates Cambridge Trust Scholarships from October 2001
you may have heard that Bill Gates has recently poured some $$$ into
Cambridge. As a part of this, the Gates Cambridge Trust is now offering 230
(!) full scholarships for taught MPhil courses (1- year) or PhD research
(3-year) in all disciplines. The details do not mention any concrete sums
but it sounds like all fees (University and College) as well as maintenance
will be covered -- so this is as good a deal as you are gonna get.
Eligible for the grants is everybody who will be accepted for graduate
study by the University AND comes from any of the following states: USA,
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and European Union.
Applicants need to apply for graduate study to the University in the usual
way and before the end of February 2001.
More information about the Department, its courses and staff available for
research supervision can be found on its web pages at
http://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/DEPT/
All prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to contact either myself
or any of my colleages in the Department in an informal way (with some
biographical information, degree sought, and provisional research proposal,
if relevant) BY THURSDAY, 23 NOVEMBER 2000.
