Dear List,
Many of the lists facilitated by mailbase have now been taken over by
JISCmail. JISC is the Joint Information Systems Committee and is a
strategic advisory committee working on behalf of the funding bodies for
higher and further education in England Scotland Wales and Northern
Ireland. They have been granted the funding that mailbase had at Newcastle
to run mailbase.
The only functional difference for most people is that you should now use
the address:
[log in to unmask]
when you wish to send a message.
The transfer of files, archives and operations took place last weekend.
However transfer did not run as smoothly as hoped and there may be some
delay in distribution of messages which will hopefully be short lived.
Please can I ask for tolerance of these inadequacies which are beyond my
control. I am assured everything will be back to its usual reliable
functionality within days.
So remember, its no longer [log in to unmask], its 'acad-ae-me
[log in to unmask] from now on.
Archives have also been transferred over. The archives file looks a little
different but its basically 'jisc' for 'mail' otherwise business as usual.
