Barrett,
This guy was doing all kind of things. Regular PT also and manual therapy
(he did a tough MT-education in Holland you know). People who were
considered to be out of range of any help ("hopeless cases"), he could help
sometimes.
I'm straight to earth, but I try to be open for everything and not lock in a
"I believe what I see"-vision. Acupuncture was considered to be bullshit 15
years ago. Meridiantherapy, aromatherapy, fotreflex-therapy, homeopathie,
etc are still considered to be BS. What can I say. I can't see gravity, I
can't see magnatism, I can't see electricity. Doesn't it exist therefore...
Mmmm, mmmm.
Don't judge what you don't understand or what doesn't seem to make sense.
You might be surprised. Read a bit about Rudolf Steiner or Helena Blavatsky
(antroposophy/theosophy).
PS: Haven't checked the new web-site yet, but I will.

Isaac,
I assume this guy was charging people for doing nothing. And you respect
him?
The issue of the effectiveness of care will not be resolved in the near
future. This is simply because of the complex system we deal with. It is
immediately possible however to make a case for the reasonable or sensible
nature of what you do given the materials you're trying to change. Your
friend cannot do this, and I'd venture to guess he makes no real effort. As
a fellow professional representing our profession you're supposed to ask
for this. Don't worry about being impolite, there's a larger issue here;
the patient's welfare.
Take a look at "Why We Believe" on my web site. I just posted it yesterday.
Let us know what you think.
