Off the top of my head, you might want to look at 2 relatively recent
issues of the Michigan Quarterly Review (one in late 97/early 98; the
other after that) that dealt with art and disability. I've also come
across a paper in Literature & Medicine (available at:
muse.jhu.edu/journals/literature_and_medicine/toc/lm16.1.html) called
"Deaf Poets' Society: Subverting the Hearing Paradigm," which might also
