I'd say he is doing okay if he is only 1 week into his recovery and is at 15 degrees flex deformity. My only concern with rehabing these joints is the complication of myositis ossificans if pushed too hard too early. Only time will tell if he will ever restore complete extension but it sounds good so far.

To all:
I have a 25 year old male who dislocated his right elbow 1 week ago. He has
a fixed flexion deformity (40 degrees), and has pain at the end of extension
and flexion. He went to a chiropractor, but the chiropractor said for him to
go and see a physiotherapist, so he came to me. What I want to ask is from
your experience, will he have full extension range after treatments, or is
he left with a permanent deformity??
Just for the record, I tried using Mulligan's lateral glide repositioning
technique with movement, and he achived 15 degrees extension by the end of
the session. I tapped him, but I am not sure whether this is going to last,
so it will be very interesting!
