I too know of a spring that rises from the roots of another type of tree - a
Yew. It's not very prolific spring - only a trickle, but the tree itself is
considered sacred by the local pagan population. A nearby stream is also
thought to have a deity living in it. This Yew is just one of many growing
in a mixed forest/wood environment. There are other trees intermingled with
the Yews and are predominantly Oak and Hazel.
The location of this place is very near to a ruined Cistercian Monastery
under the care of English Heritage!
