I just read a good article investigating pre-exercise stretching and injury.
I remember it had a very large sample size and the results showed no
statistical difference in the occurrence of injury between the Pre-exercise
stretching group and the control. I do not remember which Sports and physical
medicine journal it was in but I will stop by the library tomorrow at work to
give you the citation.
>From my own experience training for distance triathlons and marathons, warm
up slowly, get good shoes, and train within your bodies limits. Personally,
stretching had not impacted my performance one way or another.
