Stewart, I too am still learning, and I am reading the first 3 chapters of
the Travell and Simon's book, and understanding why they had proposed this
theory. Some of the things they mention is very interesting re: muscle
contraction etc, but I too am aware that other techniques are out there.
However, due to a lack of biochemistry and physics knowledge, I have a bit
of difficulty understanding it.
With re: to work for and against my theories... I don't ignore the evidence
against what I do, but to be honest with you, new evidence on muscle trigger
points is difficult to find. Most of the work were done back in the 60's and
70's. To me, the human body is still complex, and all we can do is
hypothesize on what is happening, and this hypothesis will continually
change as one continues to learn. I know that my time talking to people over
the internet has shaped my hypothesis - what I practice using the trigger
points and cold spray does work and the clinical outcome speaks for
themselves, now I just need to find out why.
