As part of a JCALT funded study of the human and organisational issues
of network security ( http://litc.sbu.ac.uk/jcalt/ ) we are holding a
workshop at South Bank University on Monday, October 23, 2000. The
focus of the workshop will be on security in online learning
environments.
Security may not seem an immediate concern in launching an online
learning system. It may appear more important to help hesitant users by
making the system very open and easy to use. But there are security
issues, and there are arguably also special, new, unexpected
vulnerabilities.
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss practical experiences and to
examine some of the human and organisational issues in implementing
technological solutions.
