Oddly enough, St George appears more frequently in medieval Welsh church
decoration than most of the native saints - in stained glass at
Llangystennin in the north-west as well as on the walls of Llanmaes in the
anglicised Vale of Glamorgan. The Welsh are also fond of depictions of that
other dragon-slayer, St Michael.
