Serves me right for stealing someone else's mail list. The vacancies are of course at LMU, not Nottingham....

At Leeds Metropolitan University we have two new posts for programmers with web experience:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Senior Programmer
On-line Learning Centre
One permanent post
One temporary post, for 2 years due to project funding
£19,017 - £20,282 + Ref: LSS/SP
Learning has come a long way in Leeds, but the journey is far from over. Take a look at Leeds Metropolitan University. We're one of the newest and most innovative universities in the UK..... Enterprising, expanding and exciting, first choice for tens of thousands of students from around the globe as well as just around the corner.
Our On-line Learning Centre projects are supporting technology-based learning. Now we seek two Senior Programmers for our team. Your challenge: to act as lead programmer for either the Skills for Learning web site or the new Student Information Portal. Working with teaching and technical staff, you'll develop the infrastructure and support these services.
Our plans are ambitious. To help us deliver them, you'll need a degree or equivalent computing qualifications and experience of web page design and development. Your programming skills should include some or all of Oracle/ C++/Java/ JavaScript/PHP/Perl/Visual Basic and you should be fully up to speed with Office 97 applications. Ideally you will have worked on and supported at least one complex website. The ability to communicate and build relationships with academic and IT staff will be essential. A recent graduate with suitable experience will be considered.
