URGENT (please forward as appropriate)
Dear Colleague,
British Universities German Drama Festival
This annual event, sponsored by the German Embassy, will this
year be hosted by the University of Bristol Department of German.
A very modern, purpose-built theatre has been hired for the event, to
be staged 19-23 March 2001; accommodation in a very central
situation has been booked provisionally. All performances must be
in German, but otherwise there are no prior restrictions on period or
style of production (though the theatre is built in amphitheatre style,
with audience on three sides of the main stage area).
Normally, each University group travels to the host city the day
before their performance, attends that evening's performance, gives
a single performance on the following evening, and then departs the
next day.
I must receive applications from potential participants, so that I can
arrange a programme and, most importantly, confirm bookings for
accommodation (costs essentially covered by the Festival) *by 30
October at the latest*.
I appreciate that this is very early notice, but I need to receive with
your application the following details:
- University Department and full contact addresses
- dramatist and play; brief details
- anticipated number of participants in group
I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest possible moment. I
can be contacted by post at the address below, by fax on 0117-929
1901 and/or Email <[log in to unmask]>.
Yours sincerely,
Ken Mills
