Dear All,
The end of the year is fast-approaching and that can mean only one thing:
it's time for the Risk Magazine 'Quant of the Year' Award.
Last year's winner was Alex Lipton of Deutsche Bank. The award recognised
Alex's outstanding paper (entitled:'Similarities and Self-Similarities')
that appeared in the September 1999 issue of Risk. The award also reflected
Alex's wider contribution to the field, including the paper
(entitled:'Passport to Success') that he co-authored with Hyer and
Pugachevsky and appeared in the September 1997 issue of Risk.
So, we need your help! Which technical article appearing in Risk this year
has really impressed you. Perhaps there has been an author who has written
an excellent technical and has also made wider contributions to the field
and you feel that they deserve recognition. Well, here's your chance to make
a difference and ensure talent gets recognized.
Email me back as soon as possible with your 'votes'. Don't worry if you
change your mind before the end of the year. You can always update your
selection at a later date.
Don't delay! Let's make sure the right person wins this prestigious award.
Please make the title of your email 'RiskQuant' and do ask all of your
colleagues to vote as well.
Best wishes and many thanks,
Navroz Patel,
Technical Assistant, Risk Magazine.
