'The impact of e-commerce on internal business processes' (Three-year post)
This new post offers the opportunity to play a key role in a major research
project that will investigate the impact that e-commerce is having on the
way that organisations manage their business processes. The adoption of
e-commerce is having a major impact in many sectors of the economy, but if
organisations are to reap the rewards offered by e-commerce they need to be
able successfully to manage those business processes that supply the goods
and services required by their customers. This project will investigate the
business processes that facilitate order fulfilment and delivery in
organisations involved in e-commerce. Current practice will be examined
through a series of case studies based on interviews with managers in
organisations currently engaged in e-commerce.
You would be expected to contribute to all stages of the research, including
an analysis of the literature, research design, data collection, data
analysis and the production of publications arising from the work.
Consequently, the post is likely to be attractive to someone in the early
stages of an academic career. Appropriate research training and support will
be provided as necessary.
