Premiering this Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 October, at 8.00pm,
two short films by disabled filmmakers.
At Jackson's Lane, London, as part of the Transitions Disability Arts
Conference and Season:
Frida Kahlo’s Corset
Picture This Short Film Award 2000 10 minutes
Director Liz Crow
'Frida Kahlo's Corset' is a short experimental drama that follows a
journey of transformation by the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo (1907 -
1954) who wore a series of orthopaedic corsets because of
impairment. It refutes the picture of Kahlo's life as one of tragedy
and suffering.
The second short film follows a day in the life of Charlie, a carer, and
Harvey, the person he enables. Charlie clearly thinks he's the cat's
whiskers, capable of managing any situation. But is he really as
good as he thinks. Watch and learn? Director FLICS.
Plus post-show interview with both directors.
Tickets £7.00 / £3.50 concessions.
Jackson's Lane is at junction of Archway Road, Jackson's Lane and
Shepherds Hill and directly opposite Highgate tube.
