There is an Infectious Disease Specialist in Wickham Tce, Dr. John Whiting,
who is the most authoritative medical figure on these conditions in
Brisbane.
There are also many support groups around the world for these conditions,
many with good websites. In Brisbane the ME Society acts as a support and
information group for ME, FM & CFS, all closely related.
I have not done a lit review for sometime but I used to follow the lit
closely and evidence was steering towards a hypersensitisation of a number
of CNS nuclei to interleukins whose rate of synthesis was abnormal. This in
turn was putated to disturb the neuroendocrinoimmune axis, thus setting up a
positive feedback loop.
It is well known that Trigger points are irritable in all these diseases,
and that symptomatic relief can be had by treating them, but the cause of
these three illnesses still seems to be in the relationship between the CNS
and immune system.
