I did hear that prayer improves survival by 7-11% !
Can't wait to see where they are going to fit that one in ! ?
Yes, but kneeling or sitting? The evidence is unclear1,2. The Anglican will
all be kneeling at the patients' left, the Presbyterians sitting (on the
most uncomfortable chair we can find, of course - if it doesn't hurt, it's
not worth it!), the Baptists standing singing, and murmuring amen in time
with the chest compressions.
So ERC will have to come up with a uniform algorithm which strips the
fundamental individuality from each faith, in favour of a hotchpotch of all,
and end by concluding that there is no actual (Class 1) evidence that God
(or any non-God alternative Deity or Deities as defined by one's own
background) exists. And then launch a training programme - ALSP Advanced
Life Support Prayer, what else - to standardise our efforts. Presumably
clergy who have not yet passed the course will not be allowed into Resus.
