This is a reminder regarding the call for papers for the Study Day of the
BSA Sociology of Religion Study Group.
The Study Day will take place on Saturday, 18th November, 2000. It will be
hosted by the Religious Studies section of Birkbeck College, University of
London. The theme is
"The Journey of Life: Ritual and Ceremony in the New Millennium".
A proposal form is appended to this message.
Study Group members have already received a copy with their summer mailing.
Please circulate the details to anyone who may be interested, such as
noticeboards and other discussion groups.
Abstracts/paper proposals should be sent to me, please, as soon as possible
(snail mail or e-mail).

C A L L F O R P A P E R S
The Study Day 2000 of the BSA Sociology of Religion Study Group will be
hosted by the Religious Studies section of Birkbeck College, University of
London.
Those with an interest in ritual and ceremony are invited to submit
papers in these and related areas, such as the transformation of
ritual/rituals in faith communities, 'secular' and personalised ceremonies,
spirituality and ritual, eco-ceremony, ritual and law, ritual and racism in
urban contexts, and New Age/next age ritual. Shorter papers presenting
'work in progress' are also welcome.
