Better Questionnaire Design: theory and practice
on Tuesday 21st November 2000, 9.30am - 5.30pm
at the London Voluntary Sector Resource Centre, 365 Holloway Road, London N7
6PA
This training day provides an introduction to basic principles of good
questionnaire design. It is primarily aimed at those who are relatively new
to questionnaire design for social survey research, although some topics
will also be of interest to those with more experience.
The objective of the day is to provide participants with an understanding of
the basic principles of good questionnaire design. The day includes a
mixture of talks and practical sessions and covers the following topics:
* Selecting the appropriate method and mode of data collection;
* Moving from research concepts to establishing researchable questions;
* Principles of questionnaire design;
* Question wording and ordering effects;
* An overview of pre-testing methods.

STUDENTS PLEASE NOTE: there will be one free place available for any student
or unwaged member who is willing to write a review of proceedings of the day

Fees are:
£65 for current SRA members
£110 for non-members (to secure attendance plus SRA membership) £16 for
full-time students/unwaged (a copy of student ID should be sent with the
application)
BOOKINGS MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE SRA OFFICE ON OR BEFORE 6th November. Late
bookings will incur a fee of £15.
