I think it depends on what do you imply under 'physical therapy'. If
something like an 'exercise therapy' or 'massage therapy', then the
difference looks negligible and doubtful (and strange). If 'medical
specialty concerned with the treatment of chronic disabilities... through
physical modes of treatment...' [Encyclopaedia Britannica] (i.e. 'physical
therapy' in a broad sense), then chiropractic therapy is simply (or: 'at
least'; or: 'maybe') a part of physical therapy.
By the way, could anyone say me why the 'physical therapy' word is yet used
in two very different senses and why it is impossible to establish two
different words/phrases for these so different terms?? For example,
'physical therapy' as 'exercise therapy' or 'massage therapy' may be
called... 'muscle therapy' (do you remember -- 'muscles around the
bones'?!..) or, for example -- 'motion therapy', while the 'physical
therapy' term might only imply our discipline in its entirety. Why not?
Slava.
