Hello,
My name is Elisabeth and I have been lurking on this list for some
time. I've not really had much to add so I've kept quiet. I have,
however, enjoyed and learnt a lot from listening in on the
discussions.
I am an undergrad in Childhood Studies (History, English Lit, and
Education) at Westhill College (part of the Uni of Birmingham) and
about to go into my final year. I am thinking of doing my
dissertation on changing attitudes towards attachment theory,
particularly contrasting ideas from social history (the socially
constructed nature of mother-infant relations etc) and sociobiology
(especially the work of Prof. Blaffer Hrdy and others). I realise
this will bring up a lot of arguments concerning science and the
humanities generally and sensible advice would probably be to take to
the hills instead of getting involved... but if I decide to go ahead
does anyone have any advice/ suggestions/ recommendations for me?
Thanks in advance
Elisabeth
