> During 1937-39 Sir John Boyd Orr conducted a survey of childhood health
> and nutrition in Britian. Colleagues in Bristol have traced the
> subjects of the 1937-39 study, who now are in their early orld age, to
> their present locations. The Economic and Social Research Council
> enabled some 300 of those traced to be interviewed in their homes.
> Full household, residential and occupational histories were obtained,
> together with a range of subjective and objective measures of health.

> summarise some to the results from this study. The life course
> accumulation of disadvantage will be demonstrated. The accumulated
> hazards of domestic labour and paid employment in the different phases
