My recent book "Unchained Eagle: Germany after the Wall"
recounts the turbulent decade in German politics between the fall of
the Wall and the government's move to Berlin. It is based on my
reporting as Reuters Chief Correspondent for Germany (1989-1997)
and published by Pearson Education in London. The book is a
combination of first-hand reporting on the main events as they
happened and an analysis of the major themes of the reunification
drama and Germany's gradual transition to the "Berlin Republic." It
would be a useful text for any course on contemporary Germany.
Pearson has an Unchained Eagle: Germany after the Wall website
with a synopsis of the book, a table of contents, bibliography, links
and sample chapter.
