There are several databases of conference proceedings around, although
many of them are only available from commercial online hosts such as
Dialog, i.e. you have to pay.
Ones I can think of include:
Inside Conferences (Dialog - http://www.dialog.com)
Conference Papers Index (Dialog - ditto)
Index to Scientific and technical procedings (Web of Science
http://www.mimas.ac.uk/)
Some conference proceedings and abstracts, if they are published in
journals, are also indexed on the major databases such as MEDLINE and
EMBASE - searching on the journal name would be the first step.
Unfortunately conference abstracts sometimes in journal supplements
which may not get indexed routinely.
