Dear colleagues
One of the great features of Eurotalk is the speed and enthusiasm with
which people respond to requests for help or information. Obviously,
it's completely up to individual responders to choose to reply
"backchannel" directly to the enquirer, or as a reply to the whole list.
But let me make the following points to encourage more replies-to-list:
1. Replies-to-list share the information with others so that we all
learn from it.
2. Where there's more than one way of pursuing an enquiry (and there
usually is), it's fascinating to see the range of different approaches -
we can only do this if everyone replies to list.
3. When enquiries are for copies of documents, if you know that
someone's dealt with it you don't have to do it yourself.
Eurotalk is a way of sharing information and experience - that happens
most when people reply to the whole list.
Best wishes
Catherine
